The Newest Entry in Popular Video Tutorial Series Focuses on Getting to Know OER
I love the idea of Open Educational Resources. Free. Editable. Shareable. What could be better?
Well … it would be better if it was easier to find them, and if a lot more educators were aware of them. While we can't fix those challenges overnight, I'm gonna do my darnedest to try and chip away at 'em a little!
This weekend I created the twelfth entry in the growing set of quick video tutorials I've been recording this year. The “3 Minute Teaching With Tech” tutorial videos provide educators with quick introductions to (mostly free) tools and techniques that many teachers, technologists, librarians, and others, are putting to productive, fun use.
Getting to Know OER
My new video gives the basic low-down on what OER are, and demonstrates a few search engines that will help you find resources that you can use. Things ran a little long as I recorded this and shared these search sites, and one other technique not to overlook (most of the 3 minute tutorials are really about 3 minutes long, this one went well over 4 minutes … oh well, I think it's worth it!) .
