Slideshare is a Wonderful Free Resource for Educators

The widely used Slideshare presentation sharing format is a great way to make your PowerPoint presentations or other files available for easy web-based access, and get statistics on views.

In addition to PowerPoint files, Slideshare imports PDF files, Word files, Open Office files, and text files.

Teachers have used the platform for years. Slideshare even has a category of slide decks specifically for featured content for education: http://www.slideshare.net/featured/category/education.

If you're not already familiar with the platform, you may want to start with this resource (presented, by no coincidence, on Slideshare!): “Getting Started on SlideShare: A Guide for Creators“.

Come Check out Some of Our Most Popular Content in Slide Format!

We've turned some of our most beloved posts into SlideShare presentations because it's a fun way to present and share this information and these resources. These uploads have been viewed over 200,000 times, which is pretty awesome (thank you to all those SlideShare viewers)! Check 'em out:

I should also add that Slideshare is super easy to use, you just tell it where to pull the file from your computer, and that's pretty much it. Add some related info to help make it easy for your files to be found, and you are done. You can also make a slide deck private (so only you can view it), or password protect it (so you can share it with students without making it totally public).

So go ahead and give Slideshare a try today!
