Tackk - An Easy Free Tool for Creating Digital Assignments, Blended or Flipped Content

Share [1]

The variety of free applications for creating tweaked digital content that can be great for lessons keeps proliferating - here’s yet another cool free tool!

I just learned about this free app, another easy tool for creating digital assignments … homework, flipped class content, blended learning lesson material, etc. (of course, the flip is really just another variation of blended learning IHMO). Tackk [2] is a slick new Internet based application that provides an easy to use interface enabling you to post an image, video, or other content and add some text so you can ask questions or post some other form of assignment. A comments section is automatically available for each piece of content, so there’s an instant discussion forum!

Here’s a ‘Tackk’ I created in a few minutes as an example: http://tackk.com/mv1z3z [3].

Tackk isn’t just for educators, but it has plenty of features educators can use, such as making a Tackk private to maintain student privacy (it’s under the 4th tab over on the right hand side of the screen when you are editing - it’s a little hard to find, but it’s there). You can create your own account in a few clicks by associating it with a Facebook, Google+, or other type of social media account. Then just click on the blue “Create” button to get started making your own Tackk!

There has been a gradual increase in the development of these types of apps that make it easy to combine digital elements like videos, pics, text, music, many sorts of embeddable content, etc., and some sort of response mechanism, to enable eager ‘starter’ ed-techies to throw something together without a ton of learning and effort. At the same time, Tackk also provides some hooks to let more advanced users get a littler tech-ier. Pretty cool.
