How to Combine Existing Digital Learning Materials into New Teaching Content: 11 Awesome Mash Up Tools

Share [1]

Check out this cool digital magazine I created with Glossi (featuring 11 great apps for creating online learning content)!

I read about Glossi [2] in a post from FreeTech4Teachers [3] this week and thought I would take it for a spin. Before I knew it, I was knee-deep in creating this Digital Magazine, focused on my favorite applications for creating digital learning materials. The applications I highlight here are mostly free, and they are all pretty easy to use. Educators love them because they provide the ability to combine different types of content (text, images, video, audio) to create their own unique online content great for blended learning, the flipped classroom, project based learning and so much more. One of the best things about these tools is that students can use them too, to create their own content and develop those 21st century learning skills!

Glossi was pretty easy to use once I got the hang of it, but it was time consuming to work through the capture and upload of images and careful laying of pages. The only real challenge I had was with getting the embedded video clips to play at the size they appear in the layout (I couldn’t figure that out and searching through their help didn’t yield any useful results). I had a blast though. What a powerful, fun application.
