Kelly Walsh is the CIO and CISO at The College of Westchester in White Plains, NY, where he also teaches as a member of Faculty of Administration. Prior to joining the college, he worked as an information technology manager in a number of different industries, including manufacturing, sales, and distribution. Walsh earned his MBA from Long Island University and a Bachelor Degree in Mathematics from Mercy College.

In 2009, Walsh founded the popular website, where he writes regularly about engaging students and enhancing learning outcomes through the use of emerging Internet and instructional technologies. EmergingEdTech experienced over 90,000 unique visitors a month at its peak, drawing an audience from all across the world and across the spectrum of grades K through 16+.

In 2013 Walsh was ranked by the Huffington Post at #3 in a listing of the “Top 50 Social CIOs in Higher Education”. In 2014 through 2016, he was included in Top 100 Social CIO listings on the Huffington Post, ranking CIOs across all industries. In 2020, Walsh was recognized with a CIO Award from Info-Tech Research Group.'

Walsh is a Board Member for the Flipped Learning Network, a non-profit organization that provides resources and research about flipped learning. His 2013 eBook, the Flipped Classroom Workshop-in-a-Book guides teachers through the development of their own flipped instruction implementation plan.

From 2016 through 2020, Walsh wrote regularly for University Business magazine.

On a more personal note, Walsh is also a singer/songwriter, guitarist, composer, mixing/mastering engineer, and producer and in 2020 he became the IT Director for AboveandBeyond Music, a music licensing start up based in California. Explore his music online at
