With the 3rd Annual Digital Learning Day upon us, its a great opportunity for educators to avail themselves of the free professional development opportunities available on this day that nationally recognizes the importance of digital learning!
4 Webinars from Blended Schools Network (10 AM through 1 PM EST)
Blended Schools Network is offering 4 Webinars for Digital Learning (register here [2], and check out other prerecorded webinars they’ve made available). Topics include, “5 Key Administrative Decisions for Successful Online Programs”, Open Educational Resources, “5 Habits of Successful Online Teachers”, and “Using iPads in the Blended Classroom”.
PBS and Connected Classrooms Google Hangout for Students, “Inspired to Innovate” (1 PM EST)

In honor of DLD, PBS has partnered with Connected Classrooms to offer this Google Hangout [3]. “This one-of-a-kind, interactive experience features three dynamic guests who will share insight into their groundbreaking work in media, technology and neuroscience. Students will be able to identify the key skills that lead to innovation and recognize the next steps they can take to bring their creative ideas to life.”

Education Development Center Interactive Webinar - EdTech Leaders Online (4 PM EST)

The EDC is sponsoring a free 1-hour webinar [5], “featuring an interactive discussion with teachers and students who are implementing digital learning—to celebrate Digital Learning Day.”
Social Media Webinar Series from LINCS (3 PM EST on Wednesdays from 2/5 through 3/6)

This Webinar Series [6] from Literacy Assistance Center kicks off on Digital Learning Day, in honor of the event. These (5) 30 minute Webinars will run at 3 PM EST each Wednesday from Feb 5 through Mar 6. Each Webinar will focus on a specific type of Social Media, from an educator’s perspective. The first one, running tomorrow, is about Wiggio, a free online tool to manage online communities.
