A couple articles about one professor’s use of Twitter in the classroom

University of Texas History Professor Monica Rankin has been getting some press lately about her use of Twitter in the classroom. I thought this made for an interesting brief mid week post, and it also serves as a nice follow up to my February post [1] about educational applications of Twitter.
Here’s two articles I recently came across about Professor Rankin’s use of the microblogging tool:
How one teacher uses Twitter in the Classroom [2]: This article has a brief (5 min, 19 sec) video imbedded, which provides a great view into how Twitter was used in this class, and how it enhanced student engagement with the learning experience.
Here is another article about this project: Twitter goes to college [3]. This article includes links to a number of other online resources that discuss similar efforts at other schools.
After reading these two articles, I see that this is a topic that is ripe for a deeper dive. I am adding this to my list of topics to do a “refresh” post on in the near future.
Anyone else out there using Twitter in the classroom?
